Kase Master kit III 77mm CPL+ND1000+S-GND0.9

€ 249,00

The Kase Master kit III contains three magnetic filters, which can be used alone or in combination. The magnetic circular filters are made of professional optical Wolverine glass, like our square filters, which have multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while further improving clarity and color neutrality and they have a shock-resistant effect. These coatings also have a dirt, oil and mold repellent effect to stay clean longer than uncoated filters.

These filters are suitable for photographers who want to work with long shutter speeds, but who do not need a full square filter system. The circular filter set is more compact and lighter than a square system with holder. These magnetic round filter kits are not only suitable for photography, filmmakers who want to reduce light reflection can also make good use of them.

The included magnetic lens adapter ring makes it possible to use a Kase Wolverine magnetic filter on a 77mm lens. The ring is made of lightweight metal and allows for quick mounting and dismounting of the filters and in this set also for placing the filter holder 77-95mm. You screw the ring onto the lens and the filters or holder can be stacked in and on top of each other, with a maximum of 3 filters.

The big plus in this new Master kit III is: the Magnetic Holder 77-95mm, giving you the option to rotate the GND gray gradient filter and move it up-down, depending on where you want to block the light.

The Master kit III contains a CPL polarization filter to reduce light reflection and make the color more intense, ND1000 gray filter with a 10 stop light reduction for photographing with long shutter speeds or a large aperture, S-GND0.9 gray gradient filter to reduce part of the image. to protect against excess light, a magnetic adapter ring and a lens cap of 95mm, and the Magnetic holder 77-95mm, together with a nice leather bag, where everything fits and is well protected when you are not photographing.

Thanks to the magnetic ring, this R-GND0.9 reverse gray gradient filter is easy to mount and remove from the lens. The filter is made of high-quality Wolverine glass, which ensures that the filter is almost indestructible.
The magnetic filter can be mounted directly on a lens with a metal housing. Is your lens not made of metal? Then you can use the supplied adapter ring to still be able to use the filter.

R-GND (Reverse Graduated Neutral Density) Reverse gray gradient filter
R-GND gray gradient filters have a gradient that varies in strength and density across the surface of the glass filter. Half of the filters are clear and the other half is a GND gray gradient filter, which becomes lighter at the top. When photographing with long shutter speeds, it is important to be able to control the light. Depending on what you want to block the light from, you can place the gray gradient filter in the correct position. In a landscape scene the sky is normally brighter than the foreground and at sunrise/sunset a fairly narrow beam of light around the sun is much brighter, so an R-GND filter is placed in front of the lens and moved to a position where the brighter part of the scene is covered by the R-GND filter and the margin between sky and sun, along with the margin between the sun and foreground, are blurred using the transition zones of the R-GND filter. The scene is normally metered for the highlight area and shadow area and the difference in stops dictates the strength of the filter used. Using an R-GND filter avoids the heavy darkening sky normally associated with using stronger GND filters in sunrise/sunset scenes, the transition zones are normally soft.

Characteristics

GND (Graduated Neutral Density) gray gradient filter
GND gray gradient filters have a gradation (gradient) that varies in strength and density across the surface of the glass filter. The filters are often half ND gray filter and the other half is clear. When photographing with long shutter speeds, it is important to be able to control the light. Depending on what you want to block the light from, you can place the gray gradient filter in the correct position. A GND gray gradient filter is often used together with an ND gray filter.
The gray gradient filters have different types of transitions, with different application options.
A soft edge S-GND gray gradient filter is best suited for mountainous, forested or urban environments, where the horizon does not have a flat straight transition.
A medium edge M-GND gray gradient filter can also be used in similar areas to the S-GND, but care must be taken as you need to watch out for dark lines that may appear over trees or buildings.
A hard edge H-GND gray gradient filter is best used in open areas where there is nothing on the horizon, such as coastlines and open plains. With a hard gray gradient filter, the transition from light to dark is clear and fast and is ideal for sea and desert landscapes.

A hard edge H-GND gray gradient filter is best used in open areas, where there is nothing on the horizon, such as coastlines and open plains. With a hard gray gradient filter, the transition from light to dark is clear and fast and is ideal for sea and desert landscapes.

The Kase Master kit IV includes three magnetic filters, which can be used alone or in combination. The magnetic circular filters are made of professional optical Wolverine glass, like our square filters, which feature multiple layers of anti-reflective coatings to prevent internal ghosting and reflections while further improving brightness and color neutrality, and they have impact resistance. These coatings also have dirt, oil and mold repellency to stay clean longer, than uncoated filters.

These filters are suitable for photographers, who want to work with long shutter speeds, but do not need a full square filter system. The circular filter kit is more compact and lighter, than a square system with holder. These magnetic circular filter kits are not only suitable for photography, filmmakers who want to reduce light reflexion can also make excellent use of them.

The included lens adapter ring 77-82mm makes it possible to use the filter holder not only on an 82mm lens, but also to use it on a 77mm lens.

The main improvement in this new Master kit IV over the old Master kit is the wheel for easy rotation of the CPL and the much easier manipulation of the GND filter in the holder thanks to the included screws.
The Master kit IV includes a CPL polarizing filter, to reduce light reflection and make the color more intense, ND1000 gray filter with a 10 stop light reduction for shooting with slow shutter speeds or large aperture, S-GND0. 9 gray gradient filter to shield a portion of the image from excess light, an Armour magnetic adapter ring 82mm, an adapter ring 77-82mm and a lens cap of 95mm, and the Magetic holder 82-95mm, together with a nice canvas bag, where everything fits and is well protected , when you are not shooting.

Note
If you plan to use this set on a full frame camera with large wide angle lens, you do need to be aware of vignetting that may occur.
By installing the magnetic adapter, which has some thickness, with 1 filter there are few dark corners at 16mm, while 18mm is totally ok.
However with 2-3 filters, at 16mm vignetting can be seen in all corners, at 18mm it is acceptable and at 19mm it is not seen.

Thanks to the magnetic ring, this S-GND0.9 soft gray gradient filter is easy to mount and remove from the lens. The filter is made of high-quality Wolverine glass, which ensures that the filter is almost indestructible.
The magnetic filter can be mounted directly on a lens with a metal housing. Is your lens not made of metal? Then you can use the supplied adapter ring to still be able to use the filter.

What does a circular GND filter do?

Half of the filters are clear and the other half is a GND filter, which becomes lighter at the top. When photographing with long shutter speeds, it is important to be able to control the light. Depending on where you want to block the light, you can place the circular GND filter in the correct position. In a landscape scene the sky is normally brighter than the foreground and at sunrise/sunset a fairly narrow beam of light around the sun is much brighter, so an R-GND filter is placed in front of the lens and moved to a position where the brighter part of the scene is covered by the R-GND filter and the margin between sky and sun, along with the margin between the sun and foreground, are blurred using the filter's transition zones.
