Ring tutorial

Rings make your filters usable on all your lenses.

Set-up ring, adapter ring, reducer ring, screw ring, magnetic ring,...

There are a lot of different adapter rings, but which one should you get?
The first thing to consider is the diameter of your lens, to which you want to place a filter, filter holder or lens hood. Often you have several more lenses, so they all need to be usable with those filters, holder and lens hood.
Second, what system are you going to use and what do you need with that? We will try to explain this to you using all the types of filters and holders we have in our assortment. The rule is, that you always find the right rings for that system in the category of that system.

Circular Magnetic Filters

Circular Magnetic filters and Revolution filters

With all circular filters and in all kits there is a normal Magnetic circular adapter ring in the size of the filters, which you have to screw on your lens and to which the filters then magnetically click. The latest Revolution system also comes with such a normal Magnetically Circular adapter ring , in addition, the Revolution kit comes with a Universal Revolution magnetic inlaid ring in the size of the filter. The main advantage of an inlaid ring is, that it falls on the inner side of the lens thread and thus sits closer to the first lens part, which reduces vignetting.

If you want to use the filter set of your choice on smaller lenses as well, then you use a Magnetic Circular Adapter reducer ring, which can be found under; Circular; Magnetic Filter Adapter Rings. There are rings for lenses from 37mm to 112mm in diameter. There is also a special Magnetic Circular adapter for the Laowa 12mm lens. For the Nikon Z 14-24 a special set of filters is made and in addition there are then rings to use these large filters also on smaller lenses. see; Circular; Magnetic filter adapter rings. You can also filter/search by size here, which is faster.
The Revolution system also has Revolution magnetic adapter adapter rings, which can only be used with the Revolution filters. The big advantage is that they do not have to be screwed on, but can be placed magnetically on the Revolution inlaid ring, which you must first screw into the lens edge. The adapter rings are completely magnetic, so they can be easily removed from your lens, which is useful for storage or changing the lens.
However, if you want to use a Magnetic Lens Hood, then it is recommended to first place a K100 screw adapter ring on your smaller lens and screw the ring of the lenshood onto it, because otherwise it will become too heavy and will not stay in place. The same applies to the Magnetic Filter Holder of the Master IV set, first place a K100 screw adapter ring and then the filter holder IV.
